Dinghy Racing sails

Dinghy racing sails

Racing is our passion and it’s in the blood.

Since joining Moatt sails in early 2017, Richard Bowers has designed and developed Dinghy racing sails which have won at International, National, Open meeting, Regatta and Club level.

For the 2019 Osprey National championship Moatt sails again turned out a strong team with Michael Atkinson and Richard Bowers taking an early lead. What followed was a great battle of attrition with with Angus Hemmings and Adam Bowers fininshing in fourth overall,  Piers Strong and Phil Angrave in fifth and Michael Atkinson in 7th place.

Alistair Warren continued making history for us by winning our first International Canoe national championship outright sailing his own design “Dragon Fly”. Richard continues to work with Alistair to refine designs for the Worlds in Australia and is working with Dave Timson on the super light weight membrane sails which showed great form in 2019 and won the last open event of the year at Oxford.

In the Scorpions Sam Barker and Cara Jones brought home fourth overall with a haul of trophies from the Scorpion National championships .

We are continually developing new designs for the future and are currently working with sailors in the Phantom, Merlin Rocket, Fireball and Seafly fleet. If you have a One design campaign in mind and would like an original perspective give Richard call on 01305 824254
